Knitting Origins

I love expressing myself. All my life I’ve done different things to do that. Writing, drawing, and many other forms of self expression.

As a result of wanting to make a blanket, in 1999 M.D. taught me how to crochet. I didn’t stick with it until April of 2008, a few years after (May 2011) I picked up knitting. I learned using books from local libraries and like many others; YouTube.

I jumped head first into socks not aware of the belief that it is only for advance knitters. I did well although the socks came out too small. At the moment I rarely crochet. I have however moved into a new form of self expression;  spinning and dyeing yarn.

I use drop spindles, Turkish spindles, and support spindles. My goal in this is to eventually and consistently spin sock-cobweb weight yarn. In this blog you will find my journey of this goal as well as my knitting journey. Goals in that is to make a garment for myself, tackle cables, colorwork, and anything else my heart desires. Thank you for taking the time to read this, for journeying with me, and for coming back often.
